What Can You Expect In Your Basket?

The Rock-N-Horse Farm Farm Harvest Share contents will vary based on the season and weather.

In the spring, you may receive spring greens, lettuce mixes, spinach, chard, rhubarb, spring onions, wild leeks, micro greens, asparagus and herbs.

Come summer, you may receive spring veggies plus tomatoes, peppers, carrots, summer squash, greens, beets, beans, peas, potatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, onions, strawberries, raspberries and more.

In the fall, you will enjoy a variety of spring and summer selection, coupled with the cool-season vegetables: cabbage, leek, cauliflower, turnips, kolrabi, winter squash, pumpkins, kale, chard, and more.

Over the course of the winter months, you will enjoy cold-heady greens and root vegetables from our root cellar.  In addition, expect dry beans for soups and herbs.

Between the late winter and early spring you’ll receive some frozen produce from the summer ie. squash, pumpkin, carrots, beans, peas, along with some fresh greens from the greenhouse or hoop house.

Meat -You can choose cuts from pork, beef, chicken, and lamb. Turkey will be available in the fall season.  Please note turkey supply is limited.

Bread – Diane makes a variety of breads. Whole wheat, herb, gluten free, etc.  When you register for the program, tell us what you enjoy or if you would like a varied selection.

Sweetness – Our maple syrup, jams, jellies, honey and preserves are made mostly from ingredients we’ve grown on our farm.

There is a one time fee of $200 to hold your space in the Farm Harvest Share program. This fee will go towards the cost of the animals that are being raised to provide you with meat as well as seeds, greenhouse production, heating and so on. If you are familiar with our CSA program you will know that normally we require customers to pay for the entire season upfront, before the season begins. We use those funds to help with the costs of growing. We felt that it was a better to only ask for the small registration fee to cover those initial expenses and break down the rest weekly rather than have to pay for a year in advance.  Please note this fee is Non-Refundable.

The Rock-N-Horse Farm Farm Harvest Share is a year-round program, and both your commitment and our commitment our commitment is for the one year period. If you choose to continue with us after one year, there will not be a renewal fee.  If you have any questions, please send us an email.
